Katrina Petersen

Katrina Petersen

Copenhagen, Denmark

Katrina’s debut album came out on Tutl Records in 2009. She gas played the piano for as long as she can remember, and in 2005 I graduated as a singer from the Music Academy in Copenhagen. Katrina loves to sing and likes a lot of different kinds of music. “I love the great american jazz standards, often very sentimental just like me, and I like to comp myself on the piano”.

Besides jazz standards, folkmusic, particularly from Sweden and Bulgaria, has a very special place in Katrina’s heart. In the summer of 2009 she went to Crete and took singing lessons from Tzvetanka Varimezova and Márta Sebestyén. The album is recorded in the Faroe Islands by Jónas Bloch and is produced by Mikael Blak.
