Andreas Tykjær Restorff, born 1989 in Helsingør, is a well established Faroese cellist, studied classical music at The Royal Danish Academy of Music.

Andreas started out in his early teens as a rock bass player as well as playing the cello. He co-wrote songs for Paradox, a young Punk/Rock band from the Faroe Islands, between 2004 and 2006, when they released their debut album “Falling in love” after which they played many concerts in the Faroe Islands.

As a cellist Restorff has performed and recorded with a large number of Faroese and Danish artists, such as: Eivør, Teitur, Hanus G., Stanley Samuelsen, Høgni Lisberg, Heiðrik, Doria kvartettin, Høgni Reistrup, Maria Guttesen, The Dreams, Brandur Enni, Kári P. with Tórshavnar Manskór etc…

Andreas became a regular member of The Farose Symphony Orchestra in 2002 and has been playing with the Faroese modern ensemble, Aldubáran, since 2008.

Restorff has composed for Summartónar Festival 2015 in the Faroe Islands.
