Kári Sverrisson is a faroese musician, singer, songwriter, and composer.   “Eru Vit Til” he asked, in the song written for the Amnesty International album back in the late 80’s.   This was the first time that the Faroese public got to hear Kári Sverrisson as a singer and songwriter.

He has been a central figure in the band, Enekk, one of the most innovative bands in the Faroe Islands’ music history.   Kári is a very gifted and innovative songwriter with his very own distinct voice and is reguarded as one of the Faroe Islands most important folk singers.

Kári Sverrisson was nominated in 6 different categories at the Faroese Music Awards in 2014 for the album, “Nøkur fá fet aftrat” with Kári Sverrisson and Bendar Spónir. He won the Faroese Music Awards 2014 with his composition to Jóanes Nielsen’s lyric, “Lívið Er Júst Sum Tað Er”.
