
Jákup Marnar Anthoniussen is born August 21st 1966 in Klaksvík where he lives.
He started very young to play and write music and had his first public performance one cold February night in Klaksvík – the year was 1982 and the band was called Science Fiction.
Science Fiction holds the record for most sold tickets for a regular week-end performance – 1006 tickets were sold at Lognbrá (discoteque/dance venue).
Jákup Marnar Anthoniussen is the primary writer and composer in the Science Fiction og Blátt releases.
Science Fiction played/performed at virtually/more or less every nook and cranny in the Faroes during the 80’s and early 90’s – dances and concerts.
Science Fiction won the music competition “Ársins Live Bólkur” (Live Band of the Year) in 1985; the prize a week of recording at Rema Studio, the result the release “The Runaways”
Jákup Marnar starts the band “Blátt” along with J. Herluf Sørensen from Tórshavn – two releases among them the hit “Til Allar Vinir”
Jákup Marnar also forms the band “LES ÎLES FÉROÉ” along with Óli Poulsen from Runavík – the band released the LP “Someday”. Later they renamed the band to “You & You” for a slightly revised release for the Danish market. In Denmark the band catches the eye of the music industry and a record contract was offered – but Jákup Marnar refuses / says thanks but no thanks and the rest is history.
