Jónleif Jensen, born the early 1960’s in Sandur, is a Faroese drummer, composer & musicteacher. He studied music at F.Í.H. School of Music in Reykjavík, Iceland in the late 1980’s. He has been active in the Faroese music scene, mostly as a drummer, since the mid 1970’s.
Jónleif composed and arranged the music for the Theater Consert, “Rósa Maria” with lyrics by Faroese auther, Bergur Rasmussen.
“Rósa Maria”, which featured 60 singers/actors and musicians, was performed at the Nordic House in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands in the autumn of 2015 and received great reviews in the media.
