Arnold Ludvig, born on February 27th, 1968, in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands,  is an award winning bass virtuoso known for his melodic, unique, versatile, and superb slap bass technique.  

In 1980, he started playing bass at the tender age of 12, with the band, Plúmm, still active till this day, with members,  Leivur Thomsen, Magnus Johannessen, Finnur Hansen, and Rógvi á Rógvu, hailed as the finest musicians, in the Faroe Islands.

Arnold is best know in the Faroe Islands as a versetile rhythmic musician and has worked with a variety of bands, including Plúmm, Terji & Føstufressar and his own jazz ensemble, Arnold Ludvig Sextet, playing exclusively his own compositions.

During 2005-07 Arnold occationally perfomed classical music playing contrabass with the Faroese Symphony Orchestra as well as performing and recording with the faroese classical ensamble, ALDUBÁRAN. 

Since then he has become more and more interested in composing classical music.  Arnold’s first classical compositions, “Knúkur”, Concerto For Flute & Piano, was written in March and April 2015 and is to be performed in June this year at Summartónar Festival 2015.
